Major decision was made

blog news 11 Comments 4th March, 2012

I love reading, that will never change. But right now reading feels like a job, and I don’t want it to be a job since it is my way to escape into other worlds. So I’ve come to the decision to quit blogging, for now. I did not come to this decision lightly, or quickly. I’ve been toying with it off and on since probably November. Maybe even a little earlier. Every now and then something would pop up that would rekindle the excitement for blogging, but those occasions are few and far between now. I doubt I’ll ever start again, but I will keep the blog up for a while for anyone who wants to read the reviews. They’re also posted on Shelfari and Goodreads though, so I’ll probably delete the blog eventually.

I want to thank all of you who’ve read my blog and stuck with me, you guys are awesome. It truly was a great experience. I’ll still be around on Goodreads and Shelfari, as well as Twitter. I’ll still go around reading blogs I follow, because how else will I get the scoop on all the books out there? Thanks to the publishers as well, for allowing me the privilege of reading advance copies for review.

Happy reading everyone. 🙂

Sorry to hear that, Chelsey. I remember one blogger saying,”It’s like a job.” and it is, too. She hasn’t stopped blogging, though she’s not reviewing right now, just discussing her writing. I need my blog, so I’ll continue. Thank you for publishing my guest post before you went!

This is so sad, Chelsey. You know I think the world of you. Your reviews were so unique and you added an enormous amount to the blogosvere. I hope one day you’ll return to the community, and! I’m sure we’d all love to have you back! If you ever want to guest post, I’m sure me and many other bloggers would be willing to host you. You made me proud to be a Washington state blogger! But I know you’ve thought long and hard about this, and I respect that. I hope we stay in touch via twitter though!

Omg, I’m sorta in the same boat as you as well. When I first started blogging, I started it because I wanted to talk books with other people but somewhere along the way…that got lost. I’m just not feeling it that much anymore. And I feel ya on the reading feels like work…or in my case, it feels like school work and when it starts to feel like that, the fun part of it flies out the window.

It sucks that you’re closing down the blog but you gotta go what’s right for you. 🙂 I’ll catch you on the twitah, Chelsea!

I’m really sad to see you go. I’ve read your reviews for awhile and finally decided to take up blogging myself. Although I understand the feeling of having it feel like it’s work, it’s sad to see you leave.

I hope you take care and things go well in your personal life.
    Good luck and happy reading.

Sorry to see you go. If you do decide down the line to come back, we’ll be here, but I can understand how it gets to feeling like a job. Reading should be for fun, and you’re right to stop blogging if it’s taking that fun away from you. Happy reading in the future!

Sad to hear this news Chelsey, but I wish you all the best!!! I’ve loved following your reviews since I first started blogging in Decemeber and I’ve really enjoyed your blog! I’m glad we are friends on Goodreads so I can keep following your reviews though 🙂 All the best for the future, and who knows, maybe your interest for blogging will be rekindled and it won’t feel like a job so much anymore!!
