Friday Follow (19) & Book Blogger Hop (17)

book blogger hop, follow friday 19 Comments 17th June, 2011

Follow my book blog Friday is a weekly meme where you go around and meet other bloggers and follow each other, hosted by Parajunkee’s View. This weeks question is:

Q. Genre Wars! What’s your favorite genre and which book in that genre made it your favorite?

I would definitely say high fantasy. A good example of a YA high fantasy would be The False Princess by Eilis O’Neal, or the Study or Glass series by Maria V. Snyder. I think they’d fit. Just other worlds with all those magical creatures: unicorns, dragons, mermaids, etc. Even Harry Potter I believe would fit as high fantasy since it’s a magical world within the real world. Just all those things that aren’t really possible. I love being able to imagine myself in a world like that.

Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Crazy for Books, a way to find new bloggers and friends, get to know each other. This week’s question is:

β€œHow many books are currently in your To-Be-Read (TBR) Pile?”

Β I honestly don’t remember. I know it’s 100+. As soon as I get batteries for my camera I plan to do a post with pictures.

Loved the Study series, but had no idea it was high fantasy πŸ™‚ Makes me want to read more of it. Happy Friday!

Hi Chelsey, just hopping through! High Fantasy, huh? That is SUCH a great genre! I chose dystopian fiction, but I definitely love reading a good fantasy book too (Note: I am the biggest LOTR fan ever haha). I haven’t read too many high-fatasy YA books yet, so thanks for the recommendations πŸ™‚

    Have a great weekend!

Lovely answer!!! Though I am not particularly fond of Harry Potter so much. I guess, I’ll just read it again, maybe it might interest me then. Here’s mine-

Fantasy is a great genre. Not sure how much of the high fantasy sub genre I’ve read, but as a broad genre, I can’t get enough of it.
