top ten tuesday 7 Comments 27th September, 2011

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We’d love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Top Ten Books I want to Reread
  1. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern – This is one that I think will reveal more things every time you read it. I absolutely adored this book, it’s my favorite for the whole year. It’s just so magical.
  2. Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier – I love the romance in this book. Mixed with fantasy, it just can’t be beat. It’s definitely one of my favorites.
  3.  Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor – Another favorite from this year. I read the ARC and now I want a finished copy I can read. I’ll have to wait awhile before buying it though since I’m trying not to spend too much money right now.
  4. Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater – This was just one of those magical reads. The writing was perfect, as was the romance. I loved it. Unfortunately I didn’t feel the same way about either sequels, but oh well.
  5. Heir to the Shadows by Anne Bishop – The second book in the Black Jewels trilogy is my favorite, but I can’t exactly explain why. Then again, I love all of the books in this series. If you have not read it and are a fan of dark fantasy I definitely suggest it.
  6. Kushiel’s Dart by Jacqueline Carey – This is because of Anafiel Delauney and his other protege Alcuin. If you’ve read this series, you’ll probably understand why I love them so much, and if you haven’t, you need to!
  7. The Host by Stephanie Meyer – I loved this book more than the Twilight series. I actually listened to this on audio CD before reading the book itself, and thought the woman reading it did an excellent job bringing those characters to life. Where are those rumored sequels? I can has now plz?!
  8. Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs – Charles! Charles! Charles! Need I say more? I seriously cannot wait for the next book in this series, I need a Charles fix.
  9. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins – Do I really need to explain why this is on the list? I don’t think I do. I actually did reread this the other night, but you can never reread Anna too many times.
  10. Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine – Have you noticed a theme in my books? Romance! This has more of it as well, very innocent romance! I love innocent romance, it just has this appeal. Wasn’t as thrilled with the movie since it was completely different, though I did enjoy it all right. I wouldn’t mind a remake of the movie though that is more faithful to the book.

I’ve been meaning to pick up Jacqueline Carey’s Kushiel series, but it seems every time I go to the store it’s never there and I’d rather not pay shipping at the moment. I’ll probably need to re-read Cry Wolf as well when the new on come out.

    Good list. 🙂

Oh, I loved Ella Enchanted. I wish the movie had actually been properly based off the book.

Great list, and I have to read The Night Circus soon, I keep hearing such good things about it!

I just ordered The Night Circus and Daughter of Smoke and Bones and am very excited to read them both. The fact that you have read them already and want to reread them speaks to how great both books are.
