August 2011 Wrap Up

monthly wrap up 4 Comments 2nd September, 2011

Instead of doing my weekly reviews I think I’m going to jump on the monthly wrap up bandwagon. Overall I think August was a pretty good month for me, posted a good number of reviews and read some good books. September posting may be a little sporadic, as I’m having a big problem in my personal life that is taking a while to be worked out, and it’s really stressing me out. In terms of reading in September that means I’ll pretty much only be reading whatever strikes my mood, instead of trying to plan it out. Anyways, enough about that, here’s what happened in August!

Books read and reviewed:
The Beginning of After by Jennifer Castle (review)
Liesl & Po by Lauren Oliver (review)
Glow by Amy Kathleen Ryan (review)
Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout (review)
Deadly Cool by Gemma Halliday (review)
The Marked Son by Shea Berkley (review)
Carrier of the Mark by Leigh Fallon (review forthcoming)
Your Child’s Writing Life by Pam Allyn (review)
Forever by Maggie Stiefvater (review)
Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor (review)
Dancergirl by Carol M. Tanzman (review coming in Nov.)
Slayers by C.J. Hill (review)
The Faerie Ring by Kiki Hamilton (review forthcoming)
Spellbound by Cara Lynn Schultz (review forthcoming)

Books reviewed in August but not read in Aug:
Ward Against Death by Melanie Card (review)
Silver Phoenix by Cindy Pon (review)
The Girl in the Steel Corset by Kady Cross (review)
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater (review)
Linger by Maggie Stiefvater (review)
Supernaturally by Kiersten White (review)

Total books read in Aug: 14
Total books reviewed in Aug: 16

Honestly, I’m amazed I was able to read 14 books in one month, I’ve never done that before. That’s awesome, since I usually get 10 or less. And 16 reviews in a month is definitely a good amount. Hopefully I can reach that and more in September, but we shall see.

Guest posts:
Melanie Card, author of Ward Against Death (giveaway is CLOSED!)
Shea Berkley, author of The Marked Son (giveaway is CLOSED!)

Awesome month!! I’ll have to come back and check out all your reviews – I know most of those books I haven’t heard of. Hope you get your things worked out. Take care. 🙂
